私が庭野日敬師の教えに初めて出会ったのは40年以上も前の事です。
I first encountered the teachings of Reverend Nikkei Niwano over 40 years ago.
旧ご本部の広間で、庭野日敬師の教えを説いて頂いた時の記憶は、今でも鮮明によみがえって来ます。
I still vividly remember the time when I received the teachings of Reverend Nikkei Niwano in the hall of the former headquarters.
この教えが世の中に広まったら、どんなんにか素晴らしい世の中になるだろう
If this teaching spread throughout the world, the world would be a wonderful place.
と・・・・・・・、胸の高まりを覚えました。
I felt a surge of excitement in my chest.
しかし、その後の活動の中で、何度となく、その思いを打ち砕かれる事に遭遇する事になりました。
However, over the course of my subsequent activities, I encountered situations that shattered that desire many times.
特に、残念な事は外からの圧力や反発ではなく、佼成会さんの中からの反発が意外なところに潜んでいる事です。
What is particularly unfortunate is that rather than pressure or opposition from outside, the opposition from within Koseikai is lurking in unexpected places.
また、このブログを始めた当初(2009年)は、明るい社会づくり運動の事に懸念をしていたことが、現在では、立正佼成会さんの内部までも蝕んでいる事です。
Also, when I first started this blog (in 2009), I was concerned about the movement to create a brighter society, but now it is even affecting the inside of Rissho Kosei-kai.
さらに、その事に気づいていない点は、本当に残念としか言いようがありません。
What's more, I can only say that it's really unfortunate that they are not aware of this fact.
そんな時代を末法と言うのでしょうか。
Would such an era be called the end of the law?
庭野日敬師は、そんな事にも警鐘を鳴らしているのでは、と私には思えてなりません。
I can't help but think that Reverend Nikkei Niwano is sounding the alarm on such matters.
そんな姿は、あなたにはどのように映るでしょうか。

末 法 を 救 う

このまま世界中で化石燃料を使い続けると、炭酸ガスが地球を覆って温度が上がり、南極の氷山が解けだして陸地のかなりの部分が水没してしまう、と警告が発せられています。
Warnings have been issued that if fossil fuels continue to be used around the world, carbon dioxide gas will cover the earth and the temperature will rise, icebergs in Antarctica will melt and large parts of the land will be submerged under water.
裏付けのある予測で、世界の指導者がこぞってそれを訴え始めました。
It was a well-substantiated prediction, and world leaders began to advocate it en masse.
末法というと、法がまったく絶えた真っ暗闇の時代を考えがちですが、法は厳然として存在しているのに、人びとが法からどんどん離れてしまうのが末法の時代です。
When we think of the end of the law, we tend to think of a period of complete darkness when the law completely disappeared, but even though the law still exists, the age of the end of the law is one in which people are becoming more and more distant from the law.
物があふれ、はなやかに繁栄しているようにみえるいまの社会も、豊かさや便利さを飽くことなく追い続けると、どんどん法からはずれ、破滅の道をたどりかねません。
Even today's society, which is overflowing with goods and appears to be thriving, can drift further and further away from the law and end up on the path to destruction if it continues to relentlessly pursue wealth and convenience.
法華経には、燃えさかる家の中で、その火に気づかずに遊びほうけている子どもたちの話が出てきます。
In the Lotus Sutra, there is a story about children playing around in a burning house, unaware of the flames.
その子どもたちに仏さまは、「外には、すばらしい車があるぞ」と呼びかけて大火から救いだされます。幸せを求めているつもりで、自分がどこへ向かっているか気づかずにいる現代人も，“火宅の子”と言えましょう。
The Buddha rescued the children from the fire by telling them, ``There's a wonderful car outside.'' Modern people who think they are seeking happiness but are unaware of where they are heading can also be called ``children of the house of fire.''
その人たちへの呼びかけは、物の豊かさや便利さを上回る真の豊かさ、本当の喜びを知ってもらうことです。
Our appeal to these people is to help them realize the true richness and true joy that surpass material wealth and convenience.

例えば、庭野日敬師の教えは「切れば血の出る教え」と言われています。
For example, the teachings of Reverend Nikkei Niwano are said to be ``teachings that if you cut, blood will come out''.
簡単に言いますと、結果・現象が出る教えと言う事です。
Simply put, it is a teaching that produces results and phenomena.
今では、そんな事を言う方はほとんどいません。
Nowadays, very few people say such things.
逆に、そんな事を言うと変人扱いです。
On the other hand, if you say something like that, you'll be treated like a weirdo.
庭野日敬師の教えの真髄は変わっていません。
The essence of Reverend Nikkei Niwano's teachings has not changed.
それを受け継ぐ方々の怠慢ではないかと受け止めています。
I believe this is due to negligence on the part of those who inherited it.
何故か、
For some reason,
庭野日敬師の教えの真髄ではなく、
Rather than the essence of the teachings of Reverend Nikkei Niwano,
その表面上を取り作っている方が楽だから、と受け止めています。
I accept that it's easier to make things on the surface.
そんな事も、末法の時代のなせる業ではないでしょうか。
Isn't that something that can be done in the era of the end of the law?
